CONTACT: Cathy Norman, Assistant Attorney General, (802) 828-5512

November 19, 2012

The Vermont Attorney General’s Office announced today that, on November 19, 2012, Willie Knight was sentenced in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division in Franklin County to a total of eighteen months to nine years to serve for five felony drug charges and a felony obstruction of justice charge.

Knight entered guilty pleas to four sale of cocaine charges, possession of cocaine, and obstruction of justice.

In consideration of these guilty pleas, the State dismissed a second obstruction of justice charge and three misdemeanor possession of narcotics charges.

The North West Vermont Drug Task Force conducted the investigation that led to Knight’s arrest. Paperwork filed with the Court indicates that the obstruction of justice charges arose from direct threats made by Knight to two individuals who cooperated with the Drug Task Force in their investigation of Knight.
