May 23, 2012

On Tuesday, May 29 at 7:00 PM at Essex High School, Attorney General Bill Sorrell and Facebook will be hosting a presentation for parents, students, and school staff to show them how to be safe when using Facebook. Parents and students from all schools are welcome. Topics will include the general anatomy of a Facebook page; how to report, prevent and diffuse instances of bullying on Facebook; how to use Facebook’s privacy settings; age restrictions; and how to use these tools for better protection.

Facebook is the largest social networking site on the internet. This program is part of Attorney General Sorrell’s ongoing efforts to ensure that all Vermonters are well informed about internet safety practices.

There will be a Q&A session after the presentation, and the program will be covered by Channel 17.
