Cavendish Man Convicted Of Aggravated Assault Stemming From July 2010 Shooting In Chester, Vermont

Attorney General William H. Sorrell announced today that on July 6, 2012, Kyle Thomas, age 21, of Cavendish, Vermont was convicted in the Vermont Superior Court, Windsor Criminal Division, of one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon in connection with a shooting incident in Chester, Vermont, on July 24, 2010, and one count of Sale of Cocaine over One Ounce, in connection with an investigation conducted by the Vermont Drug Task Force in July 2010. Pursuant to the plea agreement, Mr. Thomas received a jail sentence of 27 to 28 months to serve on the Aggravated Assault and received a consecutive sentence of 2 to 5 years to serve, all suspended with probation, with a fixed term of probation of eight years on the Cocaine Sale.
