Press ReleasesConnecticut Resident Charged With Sexual Assault And Multiple Counts Of Lewd And Lascivious Conduct With A ChildCONTACT: Cathy Norman, Assistant Attorney General, (802) 828-5512 May 6, 2010 The Vermont Attorney General’s Office announced today that Philip Grasso, 56, of Manchester, Connecticut, has been charged with: sexual assault, lewd and lascivious conduct; and three counts of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child. Mr. Grasso was arraigned today in Vermont District Court in Windsor County. The charges arise from an investigation conducted by the Manchester, Connecticut Police Department, the Springfield, Vermont Police Department and the Vermont Attorney General’s Office. According to papers filed with the Court, Mr. Grasso sexually assaulted a female who was under the age of sixteen in 2003, and perpetrated lewd and lascivious acts against two females who were under the age of sixteen during weekend visits to Springfield, Vermont, over a six year period, from 1997 to 2003. Mr. Grasso entered not guilty pleas to all of the charges. If convicted, Mr. Grasso could face a total maximum sentence of up to eighty-five years imprisonment, or fines of $40,300.00, or both. |
