Press ReleasesCoventry Woman Pleads Guilty To Failure To File Income Tax ReturnsCONTACT: Ultan Doyle, Assistant Attorney General, (802) 828-5512 October 5, 2011 The Attorney General’s Office announced today that Cynthia Diaz, of Coventry, Vermont, has pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of Failure to File A Tax Return pursuant to a plea agreement with the State. Ms. Diaz entered her plea today in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, in Barre. The convictions stem from an investigation conducted by the Vermont Department of Taxes and the Attorney General’s Office. Under the terms of the plea agreement, Ms. Diaz received a suspended sentence of 1 to 12 months, and will be on probation for two years. She will be required to complete 100 hours of community service, and to file truthful and correct back year tax returns for the years 2003 through 2009 by December 30, 2011. She will also be required to file truthful and correct tax returns for the tax year 2011 and subsequent years as a condition of probation. |
