The Vermont Attorney General’s Office announced today that Mark Beezup, 54, of Derby, Vermont, pleaded guilty in Vermont Superior Court in Orleans County to two charges of a prohibited act, which involved lewd conduct with a minor, and one charge of sexual exploitation of a minor. The charges arose from conduct occurring from August of 2009 to January of 2011. Beezup was employed as a Vermont State Trooper until he resigned his position in March of last year.

Under the terms of the plea agreement, Mr. Beezup will receive a sentence of 27 to 36 months, suspended except for 30 days of prison and 60 days of home confinement, and which will include a five year term of probation.
