Press ReleasesFormer Orleans County Deputy Sheriff Pleads Guilty To Neglect Of DutyCONTACT: Ultan Doyle, Assistant Attorney General, (802) 828-5512 November 14, 2011 Attorney General William H. Sorrell announced today that Russell E. Lindemann, age 54, of Brownington, Vermont pleaded guilty on November 14, 2011, in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Caledonia County, to one misdemeanor count of Neglect of Duty. The Court imposed a $500 fine and sentenced Mr. Lindemann to a 0-1 year term of imprisonment, all of which was suspended, and placed him on probation for a period of two years. Mr. Lindemann’s conviction stemmed from an incident in May of 2010, in which he executed a traffic stop without any lawful purpose. Mr. Lindemann is no longer employed by the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department. |
