Former Vermont Resident Charged With Sexual Assault And Lewd And Lascivious Conduct

August 2, 2007 - The Attorney General’s Office announced today that Malcolm Scott of Denver, Colorado, a former resident of South Royalton, Vermont, has been charged with four felony counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault and four felony counts of Lewd and Lascivious Conduct with a Child. Mr. Scott was extradited from Colorado and arraigned today in Windsor District Court where he entered pleas of not guilty and was ordered held without bail.

The charges stem from an investigation conducted by the Vermont State Police. According to papers filed with the Court, Scott, 52, engaged in sexual conduct over the course of four years with a minor, beginning when the minor was six years old. Scott is also charged with sexual conduct with another minor, beginning when she was three years old, over the same period of time.

The penalty for aggravated sexual assault is imprisonment for up to life and or a fine of up to fifty thousand dollars. The penalty for lewd and lascivious conduct with a child is from one to fifteen years in prison and or a fine of up to five thousand dollars.
