Press ReleasesHinesburg Man Charged With Possession Of Child PornographyCONTACT: Evan Meenan, Assistant Attorney General, (802) 828-5512 November 16, 2010 Vermont Attorney General William H. Sorrell announced today that Robert Gingras, of Hinesburg, Vermont has been charged with four misdemeanor counts of Possession of Child Pornography. Each charge carries a possible prison term of up to two years. The charges resulted from a shared investigation between the South Burlington Police Department and Vermont’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC). The affidavit filed with the court alleges that Mr. Gingras obtained child pornography over the internet using peer-to-peer file sharing programs. Gingras was arraigned in Chittenden Superior Court, Criminal Division on November 16, 2011. Following arraignment, Mr. Gingras was released on conditions, including conditions restricting his contact with minors and access to devices capable of connecting to the internet. |
