Jury Convicts Former Rutland Resident Of Sale Of Heroin

Attorney General William Sorrell announced today that after a two-day trial and less than two hours of deliberations, a Rutland County jury found Tiffanie Felix, formerly of Rutland, Vermont, guilty on one count of felony Sale of more than 200 milligrams of Heroin. Assistant Attorneys General Evan Meenan and John Treadwell prosecuted the case.

According to the evidence presented at trial, Ms. Felix sold 10 bags of heroin containing more than 218 milligrams of heroin for $150 to an individual co-operating with the Vermont Drug Task Force. Law enforcement officers from the Vermont State Police, Rutland Police Department and Springfield Police Department investigated the case.

Ms. Felix will be sentenced on a future date. The maximum penalty for the offense is imprisonment for not more 10 years, a fine of not more than $250,000 or both. The Court released Ms. Felix on conditions pending sentencing.
