Pawlett Vermont Man Charged With Lewd And Lascivious Conduct With A Child

The Vermont Attorney General’s Office announced today that Richard Kelley, 55, of Pawlett, Vermont, has been charged with lewd and lascivious conduct. Mr. Kelley, who until last year was a deputy sheriff with the Windsor County Sheriff’s Department, was arraigned today in Vermont Superior Court in Windsor County.

The charges arise from an investigation conducted by the Vermont State Police. According to papers filed with the Court, Mr. Kelley engaged in a lewd and lascivious act against a female child sometime during the period of April to June, 2009.

Mr. Kelley entered a not guilty plea and was released on standard conditions imposed by the Court.

If convicted, Mr. Kelley could face a maximum sentence of up to fifteen years imprisonment, or a fine of $5,000.00, or both.
