Supreme Court Issues Decision In Aep V. Connecticut Case

The United States Supreme Court issued its decision today in the AEP v. Connecticut, 564 U.S. __ (2011). Vermont had joined originally seven other states and New York City in suing large emitters of carbon dioxide. The Court reaffirmed the role of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the regulation of such emissions. The State looks forward to EPA carrying through with efforts to regulate in this area.
