June 24, 2011

The Attorney General’s Office announced today that Donald Bevins of Williston, Vermont pled guilty yesterday in Vermont Superior Court, Chittenden Criminal Division, to two counts of failing to maintain workers’ compensation insurance.

The charges stem from an investigation conducted by the Vermont Attorney General’s Office and the Vermont Department of Labor which revealed that for several months in 2010, Bevins, d/b/a Twin City Roofing and Around the Clock Property Maintenance, was operating without workers’ compensation insurance and in violation of a Vermont Department of Labor Stop Work Order. The investigation also determined that during the time frame that Bevins did not maintain insurance two employees were seriously injured while working.

As part of a plea agreement, two additional counts of failing to maintain insurance were dismissed as were two counts of failing to abide by a Stop Work Order. Bevins is scheduled to be sentenced on August 1, 2011.
